Nusim, S.A. delivers a Radioactive Waste Transport in Containers CE-2a and CE-2b Equipment.
Nusim, S.A. has successfully completed the delivery tests for CE-2 container’s transport vehicle. It has been developed to carry out the transport of the first containers of this type that ENRESA will block outside the installations of El Cabril. The containers are generated in the works of dismantling of the C.N José Cabrera and are transported for storage in the facilities of Low and Intermediate Level Waste Centralized Warehouse, El Cabril.
The equipment, capable of transporting containers of up to 27,000 kg, is equipped with a shielding bell that can be configured to suit the radiological characteristics of each bulk. This way, this can also minimize the weight of transport and thus the costs associated with it.
The motorized opening system of the shielding bell allows the operation to be carried out remotely, in compliance with the required ALARA requirements.
The vehicle has a vandal-proof fairing that completely covers the set of shields and mechanisms, protecting them from inclement weather and reducing the aerodynamic drag of the whole
