ORTEC is the world leader in the manufacturing of HPGe detectors and the cooling of the same with cryogenic coolers, leding this technology since the early 80s with a succession of innovations in glass and cryostat technology.
ORTEC offers a broad range of semiconductor photon detectors and options, as can be seen in the figure, covering energies in a range from a few hundred eV to 10MeV gamma ray and upper. These detectors are made of high-purity germanium (HPGe P-type and N), or Silicon Lithium (SiLi). These are all cryogenically cooled detectors.
